Unfortunately, many of the groups & people who are considered 'representatives' of the left, are dependent on an income for saying words that cut into establishment narratives. That income in itself can be threatened and cut off via propaganda.

The quality of their lives, and specifically their level of fear of homelessness, are largely a function of whether they venture frequently outside their lane.

Also, even when they do oppose the status quo, there is an internal pressure to take positions & conclusions that seem to adhere to leftist or proggressive ideologies, just because. That isn't always healthy, either.

Our thoughts and actions are not always our own. They aren't always driven by the best sound judgment possible, even when they seem to match the ideology that desperately want to identify with.
